An excellent quote and an excellent article. Chillingly accurate, we are all waiting for the collapse of capitalism either with fear or with glee. I refer of course to the eco-warriors, with their electric bicycles, off-grid generators and self-sufficient small holdings; who are ready for the much predicted collapse.

However, it is fear for the rest of us as our western society has become so immersed in capitalism that we tremble at the thought of losing everything we have worked for.

The capitilists have sown the wind and are about to reap the whirlwind of failure. A system that was based on infinite growth has been playing out on a finite planet. I never thought I would see it hit the buffers in my lifetime but Sri Lanka is showing us a preview of what to expect.
