I'm tempted to say let's band together and start a revolution but I fear that would only alert the thought police who monitor our every word written on social media. If you don't hear from me again you will know I have been rounded up and driven to some civilian version of Guantanamo Bay.

We are in a system where the rich and powerful have ever increasing control over what we say and do. To attempt to protest against it will get you called a terrorist. Did you know that in the UK they are trying to pass a crime bill that will allow the police to arrest anyone the government consider annoying. They turn a blind eye to the fact that protest, by its very nature, is meant to be annoying otherwise it will be ignored. Soon you will only be able to protest in a quiet and totally government sanctioned way. Does that sound familiar.

For decades the US has been sold the American Dream on the premise of constant growth and ever increasing consumption. It must come as a slap in face to find that it is all based on a lie. The Keynesian utopia of eternal growth and unlimited consumption has just hit the buffers with the advent of the current climate crisis. We can't take anymore out of the system without destroying ourselves. Sadly there are many (too many) who believe that we can still carry on and that through the magic of technology everything will be ok. What you are experiencing in the US is merely the foothill of the volcano that threatens to engulf us all.
