Sadly this won't work as Putin is trying to push for another cold war. He wants NATO to get involved so he can play the victim to his countrymen. Poor Russia being oppressed by NATO and the West. Loosing to Ukraine would be humiliation but losing to America and the whole of the Western block means honourable defeat. It's the only way he can get out of this mess alive.
