Seriously, you don’t think mankind would have enough intelligence to make bows and arrows. Or build new homes out of wood and plaster. I think there must be something seriously wrong in the American psyche if its people can’t fall back on simpler forms of technology without crumbling into primitive apemen. Many farms didn’t even have electricity until 20 years ago, but they managed to live quite sensibly. I know we converted all our plough-shares into swords over the last century but I am pretty certain enough people will be able to beat them back into ploughs again. Not everyone lives in a city.
