Sorry but this idea always makes me laugh. Do you really think we will be forced back into living in caves and hacking crude tools out of stone? I am pretty sure we will remember how to make houses and furniture out of wood; recycle metals to make tools and clockwork machines, even steam engines. If electricity disappears it would more likely make humanity revert back to Victorian times, a second age of steam perhaps (as I describe in my book 'The Search for Cern' https://www.amazon.co.uk/Search-Cern-F-Baker-ebook/dp/B00OZ0S35K) .
Do you really think we will be running around in animal skins instead of just making cloth on looms, pretty much as has been done for centuries without the aid of electricity. Many countries still do. Or perhaps this theory is aimed solely at Americans, who have become so distanced from real knowledge and history that they will not have a clue about even making fire.
As for solar and wind being unreliable and dependent on fossil fuels, I think you are about ten years behind the times. Not only are they reliable but there are sufficient energy storage solutions (not just batteries) to keep the grid going 24/7. People are also looking at new nuclear solutions to provide additional support, so I don't think the rid is going to die any time soon. They may even finally get fusion working!
