Thanks for this Owen. I read this article out of curiosity as I have used Luddites in my steampunk novel (The Search for Cern, available on Kindle). Like Luddites of old they are more concerned about the effects of using technology than its development. They want to keep the population in the dark ages to maintain their own superiority.

It's good to see that my understanding of Luddites matches with history.
