This was predicted and ignored. Nobody wants to stop the gravy train until it hits the buffers. I still see adverts on TV for gas guzzling SUVs that will keep polluting the planet for decades to come. I keep hearing adverts on the radio for the latest exotic cruises, on cruise ships pouring pollution out with every mile. Even to the Antartic, where you can watch global warming in action as it melts the polar icecap.

So many people pretending that everything is still fine, just a little more expensive than before and all these crisis and climate disasters will somehow pass by. Our departing Prime Minister once bragged about the 'sunlit uplands' resulting from Brexit. That gives you an idea about the level of fantasy and denialism going on in the UK.

We are sliding into the abyss and the band plays on and we sit and watch it.
