True and the worst is yet to come. When poverty and food shortages reaches epidemic levels and the violence starts, the right wing will militarise the police and build more prisons. It is going to be a civil war of the poor vs the rich but the rich have all the weapons and all the media under their control. They will make it impossible for a united opposition to form, just like they have in Burma after the latest coup.

Sadly there will always be selfish fools who will support the rich, do their fighting for them, in the belief that they will be given a few extra crumbs from the luxury leftovers.

The conservatives will promise heaven and deliver hell and persuade the stupid that this is what they wanted in the first place. In the meantime we will be distracted with the promise of bread and circuses, dished up nightly on our TV screens.
