What scares me is that the Russians may have already undermined many western democracies with it's dirty money. The UK is a prime example, with all those donations from Russian billionaires. Even now Boris Johnson is prevaricating about sanctions, only reluctantly freezing the assets of Russian Billionaires in a slow piecemeal fashion. Our foreign minister is throwing obstacles in front of any refugees hoping to make it to the UK mainland. Our sports clubs are barely making any issue over the fact that football clubs are owned by Putin's friends.

Johnson likes to make the Churchillian Speeches but, as usual, refuses to implement anything that might hurt his Russian friends and donors. He has always lied and made empty promises, so don't expect anything great from him or his toadies. They will always act purely on self interest and go where the money goes. Remember this was a government whose first priority was to suck as much money from the government purse as possible during the pandemic. They aren't going to take anything from their Russian chums if it might mean losing some of their own millions.
