You are completely correct Umair but unfortunately your cry for socialist reform will go unheeded. The right wing media (which now includes platforms like Facebook) have successfully blinded the population to what left thinking ideology is all about. They have constantly promoted the propaganda that socialism equals communism equals evil. They have raised the scare stories from exaggeration to blind faith truth.

And behind all the flag waving, nationalistic BS are the rich and powerful, disguising the machinations that tear down any country or regime that dares to be socialist leaning. Cuba is always portrayed as the archetypical communist failure, despite the fact that most of the suffering and poverty was brought about by US sanctions. Cuba was thriving when it could rely on the support of the USSR but when they collapsed the US made sure that Cuba collapsed with them. And when I say the US I mean, of course, the rich elites that put pressure on the government to ramp up the sanctions and strangle the Cuban economy. When I visited in the early 2000s the country was beginning to find its feet through the income of tourism. Once Trump got in and re-imposed sanctions the country started failing again.

It is sad to think that the left can only ever hope to have a resurgence after society has collapsed to the point of revolution. This is why the GOP are careful to ensure that its voter base will always have access to guns. These will become the storm-troupers of the next revolt, willing to blindly follow the media fed lies of the right. Remember, one man with a gun can repress and control ten others, so they don't need a majority. They just need enough armed followers to keep the rabble in place.
